The Traces We Leave
A path worn into the grass. A windmill standing alone on the prairie. Light settling on water. My paintings return to what remains after something has passed through. Working in watercolour, acrylic and mixed media, I take a semi-realistic approach to the natural world and to the quiet marks that people, time and weather leave within it.
A viewer once described the work as both powerful and serene. It is something I try to remain true to.
After some time away from this website, my perspective has changed, and each new piece shows a little more of where the work is leading. During the past year, life asked for my attention elsewhere, and some of that time went to family, including quilts I made for my children.

Commissions & Community
Some paintings begin with a photograph someone has kept for years. With a background in design and digital media, I work closely with clients to turn a personal photograph or a cherished memory into a custom scene.
My work has been part of the Edmonton arts community, at the Whyte Avenue Art Walk and at The Paint Spot’s Naess Gallery. Life permitting, I hope to return to one or two art walks next year.
